| "We are troubled... yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed" (2 Cor. 4:8-9). People who fight battles and carry burdens are the best candidates to receive blessings. That's what Paul told the downhearted Corinthians. They often felt troubled and perplexed, just as believers do today. But God didn't desert them - and He won't desert us either. He comforts His hurting children as only "the God of all comfort" can. This study of 2 Corinthians shows how God can turn your trials into triumphs and your sufferings into service. Discover how to BE ENCOURAGED |

For his third solo release on Verity Records, gospel industry mainstay Marvin Sapp is in top form, with timeless words set to incredible arrangements to both move and delight you. Recorded with the help of gospel's top songwriters and producers, the infectious and memorable music on Be Exalted will take you away from your home, office, or car and straight to church. Recorded in the studio but cut live, you will be swept away by the praise and worship feeling of these songs. Standouts include the title track, plus "Holy," "Trust," and "Another Level," all testimonies both to God's greatness and to Sapp's ability to simultaneously minister and entertain throughout his decade-long musical recording career. As always, a dynamic list of contributors lend their talents to Sapp's latest project, including musical compositions by musician-producer duo Aaron Lindsey and Israel Houghton, the TrendSetters, and label mate Donald Lawrence who collaborates on a new interpretation of the Andrae Crouch classic "Perfect Peace." Already the recipient of numerous Dove, Stellar, Soul Train, and Grammy Award nominations as both a solo artist and part of the legendary gospel superpower group Commissioned, Sapp's musical career continues its upward trajectory with each subsequent release. | How would you finish this sentence? If I want to be a really good Christian, I must.... How you would finish that sentence is critical. Finish it incorrectly, as many people do, and you fall into the same trap that ensnared first-century Christians in Galatia. This expository study of Galatians, Paul's first epistle, can help you complete the sentence correctly. And it will clearly tell you one way not to complete it. It's great to be a Christian. It's even better to be a really good Christian and at the same time BE FREE! |

| What the Bible Says About Having ChildrenCan you imagine attending a wedding where the family of the bride prayed for her to have vast legions of children who would grow up to have dominion in the land for the glory of God? This was precisely the blessing offered by the sisters of Rebekah upon her marriage to Isaac. These sentiments beautifully harmonize with Scripture passage after Scripture passage which extol the virtue of trusting the Lord to control the womb and the necessity that believers be fruitful and multiply. For six-thousand years, believers viewed children as a blessing and reward of the Lord greatly to be desired. It was widely accepted that those who cut off their seed usually did so in violation of the express commands of God. Only in the last seventy-five years have child prevention and birth control become acceptable in the Church. Perhaps more than any other philosophical shift in the history of the Church, the modern anti-child philosophy has changed the way we view the role of fathers and mothers as well as the meaning of family life and multi-generational faithfulness. But genuine questions persist: Does the Bible address the question of child prevention? Is cutting off the godly seed ever an act of "good stewardship?" Are economic considerations a valid biblical ground for closing the womb? What about "natural" family planning? What about families that cannot have children? Is the widespread use by Christians of the "pill," a child prevention device with abortifiacient potential, bringing judgment on the Church? Be Fruitful and Multiply answers these questions and makes the case that Christians should do more than just "trust God" for children, we should cry out to the Lord to bless the fruit of the womb. |
