Writing And Grammar 9 Student Text

Writing And Grammar 9 Student Text

Why do we study language? Some would argue that we need this study because people who know their language can make a lot of money. Others may say that good language training helps a person appear educated. The Christian knows that he should take his language study seriously because of God. Our God is a God of language and communication. He brought the world into existence through language (Gen. 1:3), He made mankind in His image and called him to have dominion over the earth partly through his use of language (Gen. 1:28; 2:19-20), and He is redeeming this world to Himself through language (John 1:1-18). Christians are the instruments of God's redemption, and God has called us who love Him to use language for redemptive purposes. By taking language study seriously, a Christian can demonstrate obedience to the two most important commands in the Bible (Mark 12:29-31). The Christian who studies language shows that he loves God, Who displays part of His glory in His use of language and in His gift of language to us. The Christian student also shows that he loves those around him, who will understand God's work of redemption only as they hear about it through human language.Mastering the concepts in this book will increase your appreciation for language. If you learn to use English correctly and to value the beauty of English, you will enjoy the satisfaction of becoming a more effective communicator.

Writing On The Wall

Writing On The Wall

Listen in on the meditations of a messy spirituality, the life-affirming ramblings of ordinary people who never intended their thoughts to be published and widely read. These anonymous prayers come from the meek, the poor in spirit, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Some of the authors might not even call themselves Christians, but they still believe in prayer and have dared to post their heart cries on the Internet, on university walls, on church walls and, even on the walls of a brewery. These raw, honest non-religious psalms and lamentations are full of life, the big and the small things. They address such issues as AIDS, a slice of pizza and rainbows. They include the poignant words of a teenager crying out for help with her compulsion to self abuse, an ex-con meditating on the meaning of freedom and a person contemplating the deep spiritual significance of a cereal package. Join the conversation in The Writing on the Wall, a spiritually expressive prayer primer for a new generation. It just may change your views about lifeand faith.
