The goal of the Teacher's Edition is to provide adequate supplemental text, as well as evaluation and classroom activities-all in a time frame that allows class time for workshops and presentations as well as the coverage of the text. This edition is your resource for ancillary materials, teaching techniques, and grading plans. It is designed to help you develop a course that suits your students, resources, and teaching style. Even though this Teacher's Edition has been designed to assist the teacher in preparation for and teaching of public speaking, it cannot replace teacher preparation. It is a supplement of teaching methods, information, and ideas. Likewise, this manual is not a complete and final authority; it contains only a sample of suggested teaching methods and materials. Ultimately, the teacher is responsible to develop those items that best meet the needs of the students.

Every day, parents find themselves telling their children the same things over and over: "Listen to me"; "Tell me where it hurts"; "Remember, I love you." Author Rachael Carman heard herself saying things like this to her children. Suddenly, she realized that God was trying to tell her the same things. She began listing all the things she told her children that she needed to remember herself, and the result is SoundBites from Heaven: What God Wants Us to Hear When We Talk to Our Kids. Carman's book brings refreshing perspective to moms and dads as she reminds them that God cares for them just as they care about their own children.

Sounding Forth the Trumpet for Children tells the dramatic story of our nation's struggle with slavery and human rights in the pre-Civil War years. These were the days of John Quincy Adams and Williams Lloyd Garrison, Harriet Tubman and Harriet Beecher Stowe, Abraham Lincoln and Dred Scott- figures who were used by God to change the course of history. This book brings one of the most crucial times in America's past to life, the years of 1837 to 1860. Young readers ages nine to thirteen will learn about the events that led up to the Civil War, including the Mexican War, the Gold Rush, the skirmishes of Bleeding Kansas, and the emergence of Abraham Lincoln. Study questions for each chapter and a glossary of terms are included.

To those who carry emotional burdens too large for them bear, Christ offers His strength. In this book, Dr. Charles Stanley talks honestly about his own journey through emotional pain and points readers toward the wellspring of strength. He shares his own experiences with grief and shows readers how to overcome the pain, understand the burdens, confront memories, and discover the courage and strength to live freely in God's love for them. Written from the heart, this book is one of Dr. Stanley's most personal and triumphant books. |

Can a girl from Little Rock find happiness with a mature French planter she got to know one enchanted evening away from the military hospital where she is a nurse? Or should she just wash that man out of her hair? Bloody Mary is the philosopher of the island and it's hard to believe she could be the mother of Liat who has captured the heart of Lt. Joseph Cable USMC. While waiting for action in the war in the South Pacific, sailors and nurses put on a musical comedy show. The war gets closer and the saga of Nellie Forbush and Emile de Becque becomes serious drama.

For half a century, the rafters of auditoriums and churches throughout the South rang with the joyful exuberance of gospel music at legendary All-Night Singings. Generations of Southerners grew up on the hand-clapping, soul-stirring shaped-note music of the Statesmen, the Speers, the Blackwood Brothers, the Happy Goodmans and the LeFevres. Re-live those days of nostalgia with Bill and Gloria Gaither’s Southern Convention Songs, one of the most comprehensive collections of convention songs ever recorded.
