Adrian Gamble gets more than he bargained for when he moves to Hartville, a booming mining town in the Colorado highlands. He was hoping for a life of quiet anonymity, but as the new owner of the town's silver mine, he instead finds himself under the voracious scrutiny of everyone in town the moment he arrives. Even Phoebe Williams, who runs the mining company's general story, tries to keep her distance. Despite her initial misgivings, the recently widowed Phoebe finds herself increasingly attracted to her employer. As Adrian's past comes to light, Phoebe is faced with a choice regarding this man she has come to love and admire. And Adrian must decide whether to stay on the run from his past or confront it so he can finally face the future.

This commentary takes a line, it was at one time the consistent evangelical live but that has changed with many in recent years taking the Song to be a book dealing with marriage and sexuality. This opinion appears to be gaining less favour of late so it is time for a modern commentary which takes this viewpoint into account, but which reestablishes the line that the Song of Songs is primarily an exposition of the spiritual relationship between Christ and the believer.

This 1996 collection of Rich Mullins's finest work is a must-have for any Christian-music fan. A quick glance at the song list will make one marvel over the significant influence this masterful songwriter has in the CCM world. "Sing Your Praise to the Lord," Mullins's first recorded work, helped launch Amy Grant's superstar career. "Awesome God" has become an anthem sung by youth in many churches in America. But let's not forget the plaintive "Calling Out Your Name" or "Hold Me Jesus," two oft-covered numbers that further testify to Mullins's genius. The praise-and-worship theme that flows throughout Songs aptly captures the sincere spirit of this well-missed man.
