'The “names of Christ are certain words or titles that are used in Sacred Scripture to refer to Christ. Sometimes these names do not designate Jesus exclusively, as is the case with “shepherd and “son of God, although they are applied to him in a very special way. There are other names that pertain only to Christ, such as “Lamb of God and “Bread of Life. 'The purpose of this little book is simply to reflect about and meditate on the names of Christ in order to draw near to him with humility, so we may know who he is and what sort of blessings the Father imparts to us through him. The fruit of such reflection should be the praise of God for his love and for the wonders he has done and continues to do for us, gratitude for all his boundless gifts, and, as a consequence, love for him who loved us first. 'Thus the reader will discover a rich and limitless prospect for learning about Christ through the Scriptures: he will see “the unsearchable riches of Christ (Eph 3:8) and in these riches find joy, peace, and a pattern of life.' '“The dignity of the Lord Jesus is so great that no single title can express it. The Cardinal's profound reflections on the names of Jesus in the Bible will help you grasp more clearly who Jesus Christ truly is. ' "Fr. Kenneth Baker, S.J. 'Editor, Homiletic & Pastoral Review ' ' Cardinal Jorge Medina Estevez , is the former Prefect for the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments. A peritus at the Second Vatican Council, he is also the author of numerous essays, books and articles on theology.'

Joseph Pipa takes an authoritative look at the 'first day.' This is an area of Church practice in which we find liberal interpretations practiced by evangelical churches and vice versa. Many of the issues which he discusses are considered unclear, with the result that we tend to adopt the unhealthy viewpoint of avoiding the subject all together.

From PEACE CHILD author, Don Richardson, comes LORDS OF THE EARTH, an unforgettable story of missionary tenaciousness and zeal that sold over 20,000 copies in the hardcover edition. Engulfed in the darkness of Irian Jaya's Snow Mountains live the Yali-naked cannibals who call themselves "lords of the earth." Yet in terror and bondage they serve women-hating, child-despising gods. Missionary Stan Dale dared to enter their domain.LORDS OF THE EARTH is the story of Dale, his wife, his companions, and thousands of Yali tribesmen-all swept together in a maelstrom of agony and blood that climaxes in a dramatic, unexpected ending. If you were captivated by Don Richardson's "can't-put-it-down" style in PEACE CHILD, you will be moved by LORDS OF THE EARTH in a new and different way.
