| Believers universally affirm that evangelism is a vital part of what God calls them to do, but very few make a practice of doing it. They feel awkward and ill-equipped, either because they've never been trained, or because their lack of interaction with non- Christians prevents them from using and developing the skills they do have. Bill Hybels addresses these concerns and signals the next era in personal evangelism with Just Walk Across the Room. Drawing on fresh perspectives from the author's own experiences, as well as time-tested and practical illustrations, Just Walk Across the Room encourages and equips readers to routinely initiate spiritual conversations with those who don't know Christ. Dr. Ricky Roberts provides a succinct analysis of spiritual gifts and their ongoing operation in the Body of Christ. With his understanding of biblical languages, early church history and revivalists like Wesley and Edwards, he will lead you through an account of the Holy Spirit's manifestations from Pentecost to the twenty-first century. |

| The issues of the poor and oppressed in this world are not removed from our worship of God - in fact, to serve the poor is to worship. When we capture God's heart for the poor and broken, we begin to move toward action: This is worship. In this book the author explores how drawing near to God softens our hearts and opens us up to the need for salvation that is all around us. Worship and compassion are linked in the Scriptures and they must be woven throughout our lives. Here is a passionate exhortation to love like Jesus loves and to experience worship that is touched by brokenness and a longing for things to be set right. Therein lies the justice God is seeking. |

Life keeps us busy, and the poor and disenfranchised of our world are invisible as we go from our garage to our workplace and back again. In this unique book, readers will take a journey with a young couple from the 'burbs as they learn to notice and act on the issues of justice that abound no matter where you live. | Now forty years since its original publication, Hans Kung's groundbreaking study acclaimed as a model for ecumenical discussion has become a classic work. Looking at the doctrine of justification as understood by the Protestant theologian Karl Barth in comparison to classic Roman Catholic theology, Kung found that the two had similar ideas about the main elements of justification. He argued there is fundamental agreement between Catholicism and Barth's doctrine and that the somewhat divergent viewpoints "would not warrant a division in the Church." This anniversary edition now features a new essay assessing Kung's work in light of contemporary ecumenical dialogues between Roman Catholics and Protestants. |
